Privacy Policy

How skyemod. handles data.

What this service is

skyemod. is a purpose-built moderation solution for y99 chat rooms, built by Skye. It is operated by the room's own administrators, not by a third-party company. This page describes what data the tool processes in the course of moderating rooms and handling unban requests.

Data processed during moderation

To moderate a room, the tool reads messages posted in that room and may act on them (delete a message, warn or ban a user) according to the rules and settings configured by the room's moderators. It stores moderation records such as warnings and bans, including the username involved, a reason, and a timestamp. Messages that do not trigger any action are not stored long-term.

AI-assisted moderation

Where enabled by a room's moderators, message text may be sent to a self-hosted AI classifier to help detect harmful content. This classifier runs on infrastructure controlled by the operator; message text is used only to produce a safety classification and is not used to train models.

Unban requests

If you submit an unban request, the tool records the information you provide (your ban appeal and the username it concerns) together with a snapshot of your public y99 profile and your most recent messages in the room prior to the ban, so moderators can review the request. Your IP address is recorded in connection with the submission to prevent abuse. Requests marked as spam may result in your IP address and/or username being blocked from submitting further requests.

Cookies

For moderators who log in, the tool uses a session cookie strictly to keep you signed in. It is not used for tracking or advertising. Public pages (such as the unban form) do not set tracking cookies.

Data retention

Moderation records and unban requests are retained for as long as the room's operators consider necessary for moderation. Because the service is self-hosted, retention and deletion are ultimately controlled by the operator of this instance.

Your choices

Questions about the data held about you, or requests to remove it, should be directed to the moderators of the room you interacted with, who operate this instance.
